Four things the product does, and the specification behind each one.
Surface tension does the work a wooden spreader is supposed to do. The hot 25cm plate is lowered into the bowl and lifted out carrying an even film — thin at the edge, consistent across the middle, and identical every time because nothing about it depends on your timing or your wrist.
An auto-thermostat holds the plate at temperature between crepes instead of climbing and dipping the way a pan does on a hob. Make ten for a table and you get ten that match, rather than a visible improvement curve from the first to the last.
Flour, eggs, milk, a pinch of salt. Nobody has ever struggled with that list. What goes wrong is everything after it hits a hot pan — the swirl you have two seconds to get right, the spatula, the tearing, the sticking.
Remove those and crepes stop being a technique. They become a twenty-second job.
Crepes and pancakes are where everyone begins. Then spring-roll wrappers, the thin layers of a mille cake, savoury wraps for dinner, blintzes at the weekend.

Press the switch, wait roughly ten seconds for the indicator, and dip. There is no dial to set, no temperature to choose and no sequence to learn.
The whisk and mixing bowl are in the box, so the first batch happens on the day it arrives — which is also the day somebody films it, if past experience is any guide.
The same thing happens every year. Somebody remembers at six o'clock, the pan comes out, the first three are a write-off, and the atmosphere in the kitchen deteriorates from there.
This is the year that does not happen — and it makes a far better present than another set of mugs, because whoever opens it can use it that same evening, in front of everybody.
